• MNTC Surgical Technology Students Awarded Jamie M. Rogers Memorial Scholarship

    (NORMAN, Okla.) April 10, 2015 – Two students from Moore Norman Technology Center’s Surgical Technology class were recently presented with the Jamie M. Rogers Memorial Scholarship. Aziza Bakhramova and Erin Tilley each received $500 through the scholarship, which may be used at their discretion. Mike and Nancy Rogers, Jamie’s parents, presented the awards.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 15, 2015 --Moore Norman Technology Center’s Digital Video Production and Graphic Design classes will host the 7th annual Red Carpet Film Festival at 7 p.m. May 2 at the Meacham Auditorium in Oklahoma Memorial Union at the University of Oklahoma. Tickets are $8 and must be purchased in advance due to limited seating.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 15, 2015 – Astellas Pharma Technologies, Inc. of Norman and Moore Norman Technology Center were recently honored as Partners for Progress through the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education.

    The Partners for Progress award recognizes businesses and industries that have made outstanding contributions to the improvement, promotion, development, and progress of career and technology centers.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 14, 2015 – The Norman Kiwanis Club recognized two Moore Norman Technology Center students as April Students of the Month during their regular meeting today. Both students represent MNTC’s Business and Information Technology area of study.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 14, 2013 – It is typical for high school students enrolled in Moore Norman Technology Center’s Career Exploration Education class to learn about needs of others within their community and to work on projects that help either non-profits or individuals in their school district of Moore, Norman and south Oklahoma City. This school year was different in that CEE students produced a project that will continue to grow and give to others – potentially – for years to come.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 7, 2015 – The Norman Kiwanis Club recognized two Moore Norman Technology Center students as March Students of the Month during their regular meeting today. Both students represent MNTC’s Business and Information Technology area of study.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 6, 2015 -- Moore Norman Technology Center’s 20th annual Summer Youth Academy is open for enrollments starting at 7:30 a.m. on April 9 either online, in person, or over the phone. Summer Youth Academy offers an educational summer option for students nine to 14-years-old with classes in the areas of technical and engineering, medical, computers and more. The first Monday through Thursday session begins June 8, and the final session begins June 29.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) April 6, 2015 – Bitcoin mining is popular within its own circle of tech lovers, but more recently, medical researchers at Stanford University are applying the massive group-work process into their research projects, and have their sights set on attaining much more than currency.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) March 27, 2015 – Many children have experienced dental care by age five or six, but for a few students from Adams Elementary in Norman, their dental care began today at Moore Norman Technology Center under the care of Norman dentist Dr. Tim McNamara.

    Norman Regional Hospital, McNamara, MNTC’s Dental Assisting class and Norman Public Schools partnered to identify and treat close to 20 children in need of dental care through the National Give Kids a Smile program.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) March 13, 2015 –Two Moore Norman Technology Center Automotive Service Technology students were awarded industry-based scholarships this week. Shannon Walden earned the $1,000 Fueling Dreams Scholarship, which is made possible by local automotive industry partners contributing to the MNTC Foundation. The money may be used to purchase automotive industry tools or for continuing education. 

  • Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology informational sessions are an opportunity for applicants to meet with instructors to learn about the career major, including requirements for acceptance and program completion.  Applicants will be given an opportunity to ask questions.

  • Moore Norman Technology Center, Moore Public Schools and Norman Public Schools invite families to attend Career Awareness Night 2015, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The free event will be held at the MNTC Franklin Road Campus located on the southeast corner of Franklin Rd. & NW 12th St. in Norman.

    (Norman, OK) – January 14, 2015 – January is School Board Recognition Month, an opportunity for local schools and communities to honor more than 2,700 elected school board members for their dedication to Oklahoma schools and education. 

  • (Norman, OK) - January 12, 2015 - After losing her daughter, Josephine Grace in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on December 14, 2012, Michele Gay chose to take action as an advocate for improved security and safety in our nation’s schools. On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Gay will make her first visit to Oklahoma to share her inspiring story in a public presentation on the South Penn campus of Moore Norman Technology Center, 13301 S. Penn Ave. in south Oklahoma City.  

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) Jan. 8, 2015 – Young drivers are involved in fatal crashes at more than twice the rate of all other drivers and the first year for a newly licensed teen driver is the most dangerous, with more than one in five drivers involved in crashes.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) Jan. 5, 2015 -- Moore Norman Technology Center and the Pioneer Library System will host an Oklahoma Blood Institute public blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at MNTC's South Penn Campus located at the corner of SW 134th and Penn Ave. in south Oklahoma City.

    It is estimated that each single blood donation provides a life-saving benefit to three lives in Oklahoma.

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) Dec. 19, 2014 — Moore Norman Technology Center’s Franklin Road Campus in Norman and South Penn Campus in south Oklahoma City are closed for the holidays from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, 2015. Both campuses will re-open for regular business on Mon. Jan. 5. 

    Full-time classes for high school students and adults resume Mon. Jan. 5, with the exception of Moore Public Schools, which resumes Tues. Jan. 6. 

  • (NORMAN, Okla.) Dec. 17, 2014 -- Moore Norman Technology Center offers a series of classes focused on today’s business professional. The classes are focused on issues that affect individuals, teams, and organizations and are taught in a quick-learning format for attendees to take what they’ve learned back into their work setting immediately.

    Some of the classes are HRCI approved and can count toward continuing education credit, as well. All classes are taught at MNTC’s South Penn Campus, located at the corner of SW 134th Ave. and South Penn Ave.
